Readability Scores

A readability score is the grade level of formal education you need to have completed to be able to read the text. It is calculated by measuring a combination of sentence length, and words with three or more syllables within a given passage. Readability scores, using multiple methods, were measured for products intended for general public consumption. This product was measured for readability and the scores from different methods were averaged together to determine the overall product readability score.

Please refer to the Frequently Asked Question section of RTIPs for a more detailed description of readability score definitions.
